Tonight at roughly 10:30-11:00pm me and Gabbie were sat on the sofa watching a film and out of the corner of our eyes we saw a funny object float past the window.

This object was lower then the rooftop of the house opposite but the other side of the lamppost from us. We can't agree on the colour as I say it was grey and Gabbie says it was white !
We both agree it was travelling fast though as it wasn't in our line of sight for more then a second or two. I believe it had a yellowish/goldish glow around it the sort you get from a lampshade.
It was travelling from a south westerly to north easterly, cutting across the gardens over the paths rather then following the path!

Don't dismiss our UFO mystery

Nov 19 2009

Sir, I am writing about the Big Dave column in the Post, October 29. Although I agreed with the piece about the historical reality of Guy Fawkes, there was much to disagree with in the rest, especially his comments about the First World War, and his ludicrous put down of UFOs in general and the astonishing image shown in particular, allegedly of an unknown something photographed over Pye Green.

Regrettably, I missed the first appearance of the photograph and the version given in BD’s column is so severely cropped as to make any meaningful assessment very difficult. I have seen similar images before, however.

There is considerable footage showing just such a ‘thing’ in the sky over Mexico, which may be seen in a DVD of the International UFO Congress, Laughlin, USA, 2005, in a presentation by the Mexican journalist and television presenter Jaime Musan. Another clip from this DVD shows the same ‘thing’, or one very similar, hanging in the sky over the UK.

Just about the only thing BD gets right in the piece in question is his admission that he’s no expert. If he were, or if indeed he knew anything at all about the subject, he would be aware that the other planets of our solar system, put forward jokingly as the possible source of UFOs, are nothing like ‘billions of light years’ away: barely light minutes in fact.

Even our sun is only nine light minutes distant on average. And as for wondering why the ETs haven’t contacted the American President, there is considerable evidence that at least two presidents, Truman and possibly Eisenhower in the late 1940s and early 50s, were shown crash wreckage and alien bodies. Check out Top Secret/Majic by nuclear physicist Stanton T Friedman, published by Michael O’Mara Books Ltd, for all the proof you could possibly want.

Uninformed put downs of BD’s sort do no justice at all to a subject of great interest to lots of your readers, many of whom have seen strange, unexplained things in the skies over Cannock in recent months as evidenced by the number of reports in your own pages. I myself saw a metallic blue object like two flattened spheres joined together, hanging motionless over the northern end of the town centre on Saturday afternoon, December 13, 2008. A photograph of the thing, taken by another of your readers, was published in the Post the following week. More recently, in the early hours of Saturday, July 11, at approximately 1.30am, I saw an oval orange light in the sky travelling SSW to NNE at a steady speed and altitude. It displayed none of the navigational lights of conventional aircraft and was utterly silent. It appeared to be the size of a grain of pudding rice held at arms length and eventually disappeared over the houses at the end of my street.

In closing, I think BD should either stick to the ephemera which is his usual stock-in-trade or pull his head out of the sand and investigate something weird and rather wonderful going on in South Staffs, not only just under our noses, but also right over our heads.

Cliff Harris.
