History of the Vehicles I Owned

Well thought I would throw in a section about the vehicles I have owned in the last few years. I don't currently own a vehicle but that's now down more to choice then anything else! My partner and I at the moment can't decide what vehicle to have next as she needs to learn to drive and I would rather have a nice 4x4.

Green Frontera

My last vehicle was a Vauxhall Frontera 2.8 Litre Turbo Diesel, it was a short wheelbase design. I had modified it by removing the rear seats and adding in a split charge system behind the drivers seat and customising a box to allow me to carry all my off-roading gear. I also had a roof rack built that was big and strong. This was great for weekends away as I could carry loads of equipment with me! I had also got a full wraparound bull-bar on this model and fitted some really big spotlights, it even had some air-horns added to it just for the fun of it. A lot of the extras from my first Frontera were added to this Frontera and I also refined the layout of the wiring to minimise the looms I was using. I had ended up rolling it while off-roading and replacing the shell with a new one however this wasn't to last as I had problems afterwards with both the steering and the axles. So unfortunately I had to get rid of here due to having nowhere to keep her while I fixed her problems.

Red Frontera

This was my first Vauxhall Frontera, a 2 litre Petrol Sport S. Its was a short wheel base model, I had a roof rack built for it and fitted my own spotlights on the silver 'A' frame that came with it. I swapped the radio for a model I had bought that enabled me to use my Ipod in the vehicle while off-roading. I also made my own box for the boot area again to keep my off-roading gear in, a CB was also fitted into this Frontera. All the extras I had fitted to this Frontera went into the other Frontera once I swapped it. The main problem with this Frontera was I kept blowing the Frontera differential and due to the year of manufacture it proved very hard to get replacements for it. So I ended up getting the other Frontera to replace this one and sold this one to a friend.

As I have done my off-roading I have collected together some really good images, these can be found by following the gallery link found at the top or the bottom menus.I do miss my off-roading but due to my injury I would be dubious about doing to "rough" a off-road course as it might make my injury worse.

Fiesta

This is a Ford Fiesta 1 litre a basic model but did its job of being a cheap little run around. The only thing I did to this in way of modification was to add a different stereo and speakers. Unfortunately this car was stolen and never recovered, this gave me the incentive to purchase my first 4x4!

Motorbike

This was my first motorbike after passing my test a Yamaha XV750 Virago, in white and gold. It was a great cruising bike but wasn't really fast enough for my liking. It had a custom seat and custom leather panniers with a leather tool roll for the front forks. It served me proud for a few years until I needed a car again, then it had to go. Unfortunately I have now been banned by my doctor from wearing a bike helmet for the foreseeable future and am unlikely to drive a motorbike again.
